Yes the one for tomorrow is indeed cancelled. May 27th at 11:30 is next one and I've been told by Christina Jones from city council that they will be discussing this issue.

Hey everyone,
As far as I know, tomorrow’s meeting is canceled! Please check the link I sent earlier to confirm. Councilmember Branch suggested we all attend the next one in May.

Hi neighbors,
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the City Council meeting tomorrow, as I have elder care plans for my father. Please know I would be there if I could! I am very interested in the outcome.
All the best!

Here’s what I heard from Megan Patton regarding the upcoming meeting:

“I’m sorry for the excess sound. You may already know, but Council member Jones sent an item to committee for further discussion on how to manage outdoor entertainment in mixed use areas. I believe that will be heard in the Safe., Vibrant, and Healthy Communities Committee on April 22nd in Council Chambers. You are welcome to attend. There is usually time for public comment as well.”

AND

“No registration needed. You can park for two hours for free at the parking deck attached to city hall (222 W Hargett st). If you stay longer than that, be sure to get your ticket validated – it is free to park when you attend a public meeting.

I’m not on that committee, so I’ll just speak generally. Most commonly, the chair of the committee will assess through a show of hands how many people are present to speak on a certain topic. There is usually a presentation from our staff with background and options for the committee. After the staff presentation, speakers usually get three minutes to share their concerns. Then the committee members ask questions and discuss.”

Levi and I will be there, and I plan to cram as much into the allotted 3 minutes as possible!
