I called, too. I think they got at least 3 calls from us. I never heard back from anyone, though.

Linda, yes to both!

Justin, I know what you mean. It’s not a negotiation, but I’m at the point where I feel like this guy needs to hear what a scourge their noise is directly from me/us.

Has anyone considered a lawsuit against Bowstringz and City of Raleigh?

Subject: [BPW-Action] Re: Bowstring Update and Volunteer needed

What does Corey Branch hope to gain from setting up a meeting between us and the owner? Does anyone here think we will benefit from it?

From my current point of view, I have zero interest in talking with them but am open to another perspective. To me, it’s as simple as they either fix the problem and we are happy or they don’t and we keep calling in complaints.

Thank you for this update Krista.
I have called when I hear it and Lt. Borneo has been to my house.
I will continue to do so when music is heard.
Neighbors: Let’s continue to call in so we can give the COR Police what they need to help us with this issue. I know it’s a pain when we all just want to enjoy our evening instead of being tied up in a complaint, but it is important. And this is what the Police want from us.
Thanks to all our wonderful neighbors!

Hi, all.

I despise spending my evenings calling in noise complaints about Bowstring and waiting to speak to cops but wanted to do more of my part (and the music was inescapable both inside and outside of my house) so I spent two nights this week texting with Lt. Borneo and Corey Branch and spoke with three responding officers last night.

The result is that Corey Branch is going to try to set up a meeting with us and Bowstring's owner. He has also spoken to both the City Manager and City Atty this week. Lt. Borneo as well as the three responding officers empathized with the fact that neighbors are getting tired of calling in complaints and don't want to spend our time this way but that their ability to respond is increased if they are acting on the complaints of citizens. I have also been emailing with Maylor Cowell and the person in her office who is responsible for the research behind the new ordinance that is going to be proposed in October.

I am going to be gone tonight so I am looking for a couple of people who are willing to call in a complaint when you hear them tonight. It would be best if you asked that they come to your home BEFORE going to Bowstring so that they know what it sounds like before Bowstring is asked to turn it down. Take them to wherever you hear it the loudest. Make sure you point out that you are way further than 300 feet away from the venue.

For those of you who have done this before, thank you! For those of you who have yet to take the time to do this, could you please take a turn tonight?

We can slowly educate enough people so that the actual issue will be better understood by the time the City Council meets in October. Stay tuned for a plan to go speak to them ahead of that meeting.
