Thank you, Lauren!
I'm not sure the owner's interest in sound proofing holds any water when the
primary complaints involve outdoor performances during warmer weather.

Subject: [BPW-Action] Bowstring
After going back and forth a bit with Lt. Morrison, it has become clear that
Bowstring’s owners’ interest lies in reducing the number of citations
they receive, rather than reducing the volume or noise for us (to be fair, they are
discussing soundproofing). They want a special arrangement with us, rather than just
complying with the noise ordinance, so I’m not wasting my time on an in-person
meeting.
In lieu of that, Lt. Morrison has asked everyone to write letters explaining your
experiences with the noise and how it has affected you. These will be presented to the
owner/s.
Here is Lt. Morrison’s email address:
Peter.Morrison(a)raleighnc.gov
I encourage EVERYONE to email him this week, and don’t hold back!! He really is
advocating for us and agrees that the bar doesn’t get to negotiate the degree to
which they comply with an ordinance. It infuriates me that we have to work to hard to get
our quiet neighborhood back, but the weather will warm up again soon, and Bowstring will
be back to business as usual, blasting us out.
Thanks,
Lauren
