Good evening, CERTizens!
At Saturday's meeting, I expressed regret that we were unable to talk
about CERT at the RARSfest event. Fortunately, I was wrong! RARSfest
will be held on Saturday, 2 April from 8 AM to3:30 PM.
For those who don't know, RARSfest is an annual swap meet and vendor
exhibition sponsored by the Raleigh Amateur Radio Society (RARS) and
held at the state fairgrounds. RARS seems very excited to have us there.
They are offering a free table in the exhibition hall on the condition
that those manning the table pays for their admission. I have also heard
from a RARS ham who was active with Raleigh-Wake CERT and is interested
in joining our team.
The only drawback is that I cannot attend as I will be traveling that
day. If anyone would like to attend and talk about CERT I think we would
find a very receptive audience!
Here are the details on RARSfest: http://www.rars.org/rarsfest/
If you would like to attend on CERT's behalf, perhaps our grant money
can pay for your admission.
Let me know if you would like to work a shift and discuss CERT and I
will make arrangements. Thanks!
Regards,
Mark

Hey CERTizens,
Late notice, I know, but tonight there is a meeing between various
Wake-based CERT teams (Apex, Cary, Morrisville, and Raleigh) to help
plan a large CERT exercise. I plan to attend to represent
Raleigh/Oakwood. If anyone would like to join me, feel free!
The meeting is tonight, Thursday, Feb. 25th at 6:00 pm at Bradford Hall
in Carolina Preserve. The street address is 115 Allforth Place, Cary, NC
27519. For the visitors, when you come in, just tell the person at the
desk that you are here for the CERT meeting and they will direct you to
the Conference Room.
Not everyone needs to go but anyone who would like to have a hand in
planning is welcome. Thanks!
Cheers,
Mark
Hey CERTizens,
If you're like me, you're paying close attention to the weather forecast
for tomorrow. There is a fairly high chance of tornadoes with this
incoming front, so please be aware of any weather warnings and make sure
those around you are aware, too.
Here's the latest briefing from NWS Raleigh:

Stay safe!
Cheers,
Mark
