With respect, please consider eradicating the water hyacinth from your
pond. It is an invasive exotic and is choking out native species in the
southeastern waterways Though it is not regulated by North Carolina,
and is sold freely in garden shops, it is on many federal and state
invasive species lists.
Consider feeding it to a water buffalo and going to native plants as an
alternative. :)
