Subject: [East CAC Announce] Keep an eye out for copper thieves
To: East CAC Announce <east-cac-announce(a)eastraleigh.org>
Good afternoon, Eastsiders.
I just got a report that copper thieves are working the East CAC area,
stealing copper out of AC units of houses they think are vacant. At
least one house on Colleton has been hit.
Please report any suspicious activity you see to 911 immediately. And
always keep an eye out for your neighbors.
Have a happy and safe holiday (and watch the weather)!
Regards,
Mark Turner

Powell Elementary School is working on a grant proposal to add an outdoor
theater, courtyard, garden, etc., as you may have heard on various
neighborhood and community listservs. We need an architect and a general
contractor who are willing to donate their time to help with the project. If
you are one of these people, or you know someone who might help, could you
email me off-list?
This will be a really great asset to our community and provide a wonderful
place to see school performances.

Subject: [East-CAC] Stray red & white pit bull with green eyes in
Millbank/Brighton area
To: East CAC Discussion <east-cac(a)eastraleigh.org>
Dear Neighbors,
This morning a stray red and white pit bull with green eyes showed up at my
home at the corner of Millbank Street and Brighton Road. He was young,
un-neutered and extremely friendly and affectionate. He was not wearing a
collar or tags, and he appeared to have some spots of mange or another skin
condition, which made it impossible for me to hold on to him while I tried
to locate the owner, as I have three dogs of my own. I turned him in to
Animal Control, and he's being held at the Wake County Animal Shelter at 820
Beacon Lake Drive in Raleigh. If you recognize this dog and know the owner,
please let him or her know where he's at.
Thank you,
Sue Sturgis

I hear this fellow was arrested in the general area and looks to have a
record of breaking and entering:

He fits the description of the man seen in the Belvediere Park area.

The homeowner has been told it's not a bike helmet but rather a Jamaican
knit hat that's seen in the picture.

A neighbor's security camera caught this image of a possible suspect in a
break-in attempt in the Woodcrest/Belvediere Park area on the other side of
Raleigh Blvd. If you know who this person is, please contact the police
department to clear him of responsibility or point them in the right
direction.
