I could plainly see what was in the house just by driving by. We refer to these situations as crimes-of-opportunity so please be cognizant of the little things like open curtain or blinds when leaving your home and locking windows and back or side doors also. If you are leaving for the holidays please send me an email, personally off the list serve, with the dates you will be gone and I will advise the patrol officers of your absence. On a good note I personally received several calls from neighbors about suspicious persons and thefts but I also heard a lot of calls go out in the CAC because you are all calling in to report suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities. *_I wanted to tell all those that called in to 911 or me that you’re doing a good job and keep it up._* The only way we can prevent more burglaries, and other crimes in our area, is to continue calling in suspicious activity!! Crossing safety issue at King Charles and Marlborough

Hello, All. This is a seeclickfix.com issue that I have submitted about adding two more stop signs to the intersection of King Charles and Marlborough. I have seen too many near misses with my children (and myself) and others trying to cross this street, especially after school. Please vote on this issue. Please vote for the city to address this problem, as requested by neighbor Jessica Bowen: http://www.seeclickfix.com/issues/140560 "Powell Elementary School kids walking to and from school have to cross King Charles St at the intersection with Marlborough Rd. In the afternoons the carpool lane crosses over Marlborough on either side of the intersection, impeding the view of traffic for the crossing guard and the oncoming traffic from both King Charles and Marlborough. There have been too many near misses for the crossing guard and the children crossing. Animal Control in Wake County (and specifically Raleigh) is a joke. I called them to get a dog in my backyard on multiple occasions, including one time when the dog was ASLEEP. They showed up the last time and were actually able to get there while the dog was still there sleeping, and when she approached it with a leash, it moved a few feet away from her and she said she wasn't going to be able to get it. And left. I complained (loudly) to the city, and Animal Control brought a trap to my backyard and left it there for a few weeks, but of course the dog went nowhere near it, and we didn't see the dog for a few weeks before it started coming around again, so that was the end of that. I no longer walk or run in the neighborhood because of all of this nonsense. *Everyone who walks through the neighborhood regularly carries a stick*, in case they have to beat off a dog. It's a nightmare, and honestly, I'm fed up enough about it to just want to move. *I don't understand why we can't get any funding for regular dogcatcher patrols* in the neighborhoods with this problem, like most other cities have.
