Yikes, see email below. Watkins is adjacent to Lions Park. Good reminder to record serial numbers & cellphone pictures are easy to make and keep handy. Best, Vanessa 2248 Rumson

>> Hi all,
> I live on Watkins and our home was robbed yesterday during the day while we were at work. They stole all of our electronics (TVs, laptops, tablets, etc). It appears as though they came through the park and kicked in the back door breaking the wood around the bolt, but we can't be sure. If anyone saw anything suspicious in the parking lot that backs to Watkins St please let me know.
>
> Also, one thing that I wish I had was a list of ALL of our serial numbers for electronics in one place. We had our laptop numbers, but not TVs and Tablets. They are able to track them through pawn shops if they have the numbers.

Dear Neighbors,
A friend of mine who lives near the intersection of Marlborough and North
King Charles had his house broken into yesterday while no one was home. He
had jewelry and various weapons stolen, including a handgun. What made this
burglary a bit unusual is that the thieves broke in by cutting a hole in
his back door with a reciprocating saw. So I guess the lesson here is to be
alert to the sound not only of people kicking in doors but of unusual
sawing activity.

Vanessa, thank you for alerting us.

Early this morning at 1 a.m. two males on bikes were caught on camera riding into driveways and pulling on car handles. They were captured riding from Barksdale on Rumson towards Marlborough. One neighbor had personal items stolen from her car.
Please remember to lock your car doors. They did not attempt to open the door of my truck which had an alarm light flashing but did try our Beetle. Neighbors with porch lights on were also skipped over. One would stay out in the street as lookout while the other checked cars.
If a vehicle has been robbed then reporting it online is very easy to do now. Simply file a crime report with RPD online at your convenience:

I live on Marlborough, and have twice gotten our cars broken into with two ipods stolen and a 3DS. I wanted to see this picture of the vandals you send out but did not receive it, can you send it out again?
Needless to say, we keep nothing in our cars anymore and keep the doors always locked.
Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing it Mark! Sorry for the blurred lines, I took it with my cellphone off of my neighbor's computer screen. It's taken from an infrared security camera that my neighbor has setup.
That's my truck and the car alarm is on so he just parks his bike on it fortunately. He then walks off camera to my old Beetle and rummages in there. The stereo faceplate was on the floorboards this morning but nothing was missing.
There's a second male on a bike parked by my neighbor's driveway where a car was unlocked and items were taken. One would ride down the driveway while the other parked on the sidewalk as a lookout. They travelled on bikes from Barksdale and were on Rumson headed towards Marlborough into Lockwood. They skipped the homes with lights on too.
I live over on the annexed-by-Raleigh-Blvd-end of Woodcrest, so I wasn't a member of this listserv and aware of the recent break-ins. I've cc'd this to Lockwood since it appears they are working over here:( CCBI is here now and pulling prints from a neighbor's vehicle.
Thanks,
