I have been seeing a deer -- a young buck -- along Millbank Street over the
past week. I just let my dogs out for the night a little while ago, around
11:30 p.m., and he was on my neighbor's front lawn at the corner of Millbank
Street and Brighton Road. Though he had three dogs barking at him
ferociously, rather than run away he sauntered right out into the
intersection, considered us for a moment, then ambled down Millbank toward
Euston. Please be careful when driving in the area, especially at night, as
this fellow was sizable enough to do some damage to a car.

If either TT or Vanessa have nine fliers to spare, please give them to Linn.
Also I did not get the first four houses on Glascock after King Charles or
the apartments there, as I ran out as well. If anyone has leftover flyers,
feel free!

Hi,
I handed out flyers down Millbanks and need about 9 more for Euston. Got
them from Rebecca but she ran out. Do you have more?
Wondering if you'll be home Sun. afternoon about 3:00 or 3:30 that I could
pick some up.
Warmly,
Linn

I have a big stack of flyers about the Neighborhood Watch meeting next week.
I very much need as many volunteers as we can get who will help me deliver
these to the houses in Lockwood. If you're even willing to just cover your
own street, that would be very helpful.

The Fall meeting for our neighborhood watch will be Thursday, Nov 18, 7pm,
at Powell Elementary School (front entrance). You should receive a flyer or
postcard in the next week, but just a heads up in case it gets lost in the
mail.
We'll be discussing:
* Crimes since August in our area
* Resources for Seniors program
* Lockwood Community Watch yard signs
* Call for volunteer "block captains"
* The latest improvements at Food Lion, with store manager Ronneil Robinson
I would like to get an idea of how many people are willing to pay for half
the cost of a Neighborhood Watch sign (personalized with "Lockwood" added).
If enough people are interested, we can get an order together. The cost per
person would be $6.50 (cash), which you'd need to bring to the meeting or
get to me in another way. But first I need to see if we have enough to
place an order.

See Mark Turner's message and the WRAL link below. The victim's address on
his May arrest was one of the Raleigh North apartments, but the last address
police have (from June) was off Rock Quarry Rd. The (alleged) shooter's
picture is on the WRAL link below and was living at E. Lenoir St. most
recently, it seems. Both have given multiple addresses over the last year,
so it's hard to say for sure if either lived nearby.

Here's the latest on the Colleton Rd shooting.
By the way, Blossom had a lengthy, violent criminal record for such a
young man. Sad.

We heard five gunshots Sunday morning that sounded close to our house. We
called 911 and ten minutes later five cops were at the rental house across
the street. I've spoken with the property owner, and apparently another
neighbor saw the shooter and called the police. My understanding is the
shooter was targeting 2329 Glascock St. (the house the police were
visiting), but I later saw the cops emerge from the backyard with multiple
rifles. So...who knows.
While the older lady renting the house has been pleasant, the property has
had an uncomfortable amount of young people hanging out that aren't on the
lease. I hate to be a cynic, but I'm not terribly surprised to see something
go wrong at this property again.
I emailed Officer K yesterday, but haven't heard anything. I'll let everyone
know if I do.

This part of Colleton looks to be in Longview Gardens (it's down by New Bern
& Raleigh Blvd), not the end that meets Brighton Rd.
Still no word on Euston/Marlborough from the police?

Currently there is 8 police enforcement sitting on Marlborough road at the corner of Eustin. Does anyone know what is going on? They have been there for about an hour and there is a K-9 on scene. Thanks for any onfo.
This is near Brookside and Glascock St., where several homes are now taped
off.
The monthly East CAC (Citizens Advisory Council) meeting is tonight at 7pm,
Lions Park Community Center. They will discuss this incident as well as
other concerns of our area. You can also come see the new LED lighting all
over the park, and the new playground if you haven't already. Hope to see
you there!

Good morning, Eastsiders.
At 3;30 this morning there was a triple shooting incident near the
corner of Willow St. and Glascock. Three people were taken to WakeMed
with non-life-threatening injuries.
Details are still being gathered but Capt. Lull says the shooting does
not appear to be random.
We'll be talking more about this incident at tonight's East CAC meeting.
