Citizens are invited to attend the following events: • The Fire Department is hosting open houses at all 27 Raleigh fire stations on Oct. 7 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; • A smoke detector battery exchange will be held on Oct. 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A restaurant at 4621 Capital Blvd.; • The Fire Department’s annual fire education display will be at Crabtree Valley Mall Oct. 11-13 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and, • A presentation on the history of the Fire Department will be held on Oct. 13 at noon at the Raleigh Fire Museum, located at 105 Keeter Center Drive. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. Admission is free.
