I had been hoping that our neighborhood USPS carrier (Jerry) was
just on vacation, when I noticed that my outgoing mail was no longer
being picked up and incoming mail was being wedged between the flap
of my box instead of being put inside my box.
When I noticed today that mail is still being wedged in the flap, I
called the post office and found out that Jerry will not be coming
back to our route. (I did not call to complain, just to find out
what was up. And I've left a note for the new lady and hope that
she will start leaving mail inside my box.)
Anytime we had a substitute carrier and I got the neighbor's mail,
or other sloppy service, it always made me appreciate what a great
job Jerry always did. He was a friendly and conscientious guy, and
mail delivery in our neighborhood will not be the same without
him.
