so it looks like the homeowners are indeed responsible for the downed trees on that hill. I am sure we could get the Baptist Men out here- this is just their kind of project, but do we not need to get permission from all of those homeowners? Anyone here live on King Charles above the creek who can help organize the efforts on that side? Most of the trees are on that side of the creek.

I checked with a co-worker who has worked with the tornado emergency management team, and he said that if it is private property, then the owner is responsible.  These lot lines extend down to the creek, so the trees you mentioned would indeed be on private property and removal of debris would fall on the property owner.  You might want to check with the Baptist Men and see if there’s anything they can do.
