For those who may not have heard, there was a fire on Friday morning at Eugene McClain's house (1209 Downing Rd.). I am told that it was caused by a heating pad that malfunctioned (or perhaps the outlet it was plugged into), and that Mr. McClain was fine but the house is in bad shape.

Feel free to post an update if you hear anything about Mr. McClain or his home. I'd especially like to know if he is able to stay with family/friends and if there is anything he needs that neighbors might be able to donate.
