From Nextdoor, another back door kicked this Sunday evening on Brighton.
Replacing the short strike plate screws with longer three inch screws that are secured deeper in the studs can keep the door's locks more secure too.


Our friends, the Burkes, live on Brighton and were broken into just now. We realized they were not on Next Door so my husband was texting them an invite and told him there had been a string of break-ins, 2 seconds later that friend called to tell us they were just broken into. They were only gone for two hours, same drill: back door kicked in, back lightbulb unscrewed. 
Ridiculous. There needs to be some patrolling around here. Obviously this is becoming a perpetual problem and there are some folks out there that need to be caught. I can't believe that these people are not being seen or heard taking all this stuff.
I'm really not into being afraid to leave my house because someone might try to break-in and I know no one else is either.
We also all need to be on the lookout for all our neighbors and any suspicious activity.
