Publix is scheduled for Charlotte in 2014. The way their distribution pattern is laid out I would be very surprised if we get a Publix in Raleigh in less than 7 years. But I will be thrilled if I'm wrong!

Wow, what have you heard about a possible Publix? I grew up in Fla. & it's a great grocery chain. We are a little far out of their distribution network, so any info would be greatly appreciated! I would put Publix on par with Harris Teeter's & better than Kroger.

Hello! I heard with the loss of (2) of our long-standing grocery stores (Kroger) there may be a replacement of those to another chain of stores (
Publix's). A little bit of history on this chain it was founded in 1930 by Mr. George W. Jenkins in Winter Havens, Florida and it is one of the fastest growing employee-owned companies in the U. S. in 2005 the Co. reached it's 1000th store. There are stores in FL., GA., SC., AL., TENN. most are on the Southern East coast of course why not NC.?
