Thanks Sue- I had read somewhere (early on) that the city would be making passes through the damaged areas, picking stuff up. I actually thought it was a link from the neighborhood watch, but apparently not...I know that the city will usually pick up a pick-up truck sized load or less for free ( every 3 months) if you call and arrange it. They request that it be placed between the road and sidewalk, which is where I got that info! I'm about to rip out the drywall from my ground floor (water damage- the pump doesn't like no electricity), so I guess I'll have to get one of those pop-up dumpsters or something.

Please help spread the word among neighbors that the city will
not pick up any construction debris related to the tornado, so that stuff shouldn't be on the curb or sidewalk at all. They city is picking up yard waste only. Folks will have to make their own arrangements to get construction debris to one of the county landfills, but the good news is that they're waiving fees for now.
