Hi neighbors,
Here's a quick LPCW update:
On April 28 we had a great turnout at the Street and Stream Cleanup effort on Locke Ave. Sheri Cassidy headed up this effort and did a great job partnering with students at Enloe High School and the community. There were 14 students, 2 teachers and 8 neighbors working Saturday to remove litter and debris from the streams that run along Locke Lane and Bertie Dr.
Together, we removed: * 9 tires * an ab flex exercise chair * a Honda scooter * an orange and white traffic barrel * a wooden rocking horse * a car jack * several PVC pipes * and 24 bags of trashSheri is also taking it upon herself to be the Community Watch's Adopt-a-stream coordinator. Our group is going to sponsor the creek along Locke, and will organize cleanup efforts twice a year. Be on the lookout for more information on the Adopt-a-stream effort. Great work Sheri!!
Our next meeting will be on June 5 at 7:00. The meeting will be held in the media center in Enloe High School. We will be reviewing a number of items in the meeting, so come on out and help us.
Regards,Matt Leary
I heard the 12:25 a.m. shots/fireworks. Couldn't tell if it was fireworks
or shots. I do know that the first "boom" of fireworks started at 6:00
p.m. last night!
These fireworks have been going on every night this week. As has been said
by other neighbors, these booms can be scary to pets and to infants. Does
anyone have a specific idea of the location? The next time I hear them, I
am going to call the police, but it would be helpful to have a location.
Thank you.

Someone fired shots in our area around 12:25 last night (someone ELSE was
shooting off fireworks, but that's a different matter). I called inthe
shots and the fireworks stopped soon afterward.

I have heard something that sounded like gun shots for servel nights
now. I called the police on Sat with no response when I asked for a
police officer to come by. So I just thought it was fireworks.

Office Krysko has requested that reports of gunshots and fireworks be
accompanied by your approximate location, direction, and distance the
sound is coming from. The RPD can use this to better determine the
location of the incident, sort of "citizen shot spotter." Also, the
more people who call/ email when they hear such events the better.

I see that truck all the time on Milburnie. Always thought it was strange he blasted hip hop music instead of the usual kiddy music. I'll know to call the police next time I see it

Yes, the fireworks are quite annoying. They sound too much like
gunshots as well-- and this neighborhood is not the place to be
mimicking gun shots. We already hear them enough!!
In addition to scaring pets, they also were disturbing our sweet baby
girl!
Do we know if the police have an interest in finding out who is
shooting off these fireworks?
Thanks,
Christa
Somebody is setting off fireworks that appear to be coming from the colleton, Oakwood, Bertie area judging from the last firework report I saw. 911 has been alerted.
