Subject: [Stevens Road] Yet another break-in
To: "stevens-road-raleigh-nc(a)googlegroups.com" <
stevens-road-raleigh-nc(a)googlegroups.com>
Hey guys,
Well, I have more sad news to report. When I was coming back from a jog
yesterday around 6 pm there were a couple of people standing in the yard of
the house across the street from me ([address redacted-- on Stevens Rd]).
They told me that the couple (who just moved in a couple of weeks ago) are
on their honeymoon and someone checking in on their house found it had been
broken into. Unfortunately I don't know any more than that. I can't imagine
how terrible it must be to get a call while on your honeymoon that your
house has been broken into.

Subject: Great outdoor event for adults and children
RALEIGH,N.C. (Sept. 18, 2012) — Looking something fun to do this Saturday that the whole family can enjoy? If so, make plans to attend one of eight, free* outdoor events hosted or supported by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission in celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day.
Interactive activities and demonstrations vary for each event, but all provide unique opportunities for participants of all ages and abilities to connect with nature and test their outdoors skills. A few of the activities include:
* Fishing
* Archery
* Air rifle marksmanship
* Cooking over an outdoor fire
* Kayaking
* Seeing live animals, like snakes, frogs, hawks, eagles and other birds of prey Check out our National Hunting and Fishing Day in NorthCarolina page for more details on each event, including a list of activities and demonstrations planned, times and directions.
The Wildlife Commission celebrates National Hunting and Fishing Day annually on the fourth Saturday in September with generous assistance from conservation partners such as the N.C. Wildlife Federation, Wake County Wildlife Club, Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, the N.C .Bowhunters Association and many others.
National Hunting and Fishing Day is a one-day example of the year-round efforts by the Wildlife Commission to educate and involve people in hunting,fishing and other wildlife-related activities. Visit our Learning page for more information on the many free outdoor-learning opportunities offered by the Wildlife Commission.
* All events are free and open to the public, with the exception of the two Greenwing fishing events, which charge a fee that covers the cost of a rod and reel, T-shirt, goody bag and a one-year Greenwing membership.
National Hunting and Fishing Day events, scheduled for this Saturday, offer plenty of outdoor activities the whole family can enjoy. Visit the Commission's Facebook page for a slideshow of National Hunting and Fishing Day events held last year.

My neighbor on Donnelly called me just now. Her 2 puppies were stolen from her backyard today. They are 2 male pit bulls, brown with small white patches on their heads. She called the police. We suspect it was someone living in the apartments on Hampstead off Milburnie. Her property backs up to the apartments and people have cut thru her yard before and she said she sees a guy hanging out a lot and maybe he was watching her house. If you see these 2 puppies, CALL THE POLICE. I just got our neighbors numbers last week after our meeting and I'm so thankful she called me. Please look out for these dogs...I'm sick of having thieves and criminals for neighbors.
Good morning,
While walking we ran into two tan and white puppy pits greet us for the
walk no one around so they followed us and we put them in the back yard of
my listing at 904 Brighton Rd. Called the animal control and so if you know
who they belong to call animal control and let them know
you retrieved them. We were at Glascock and Devonport, busy intersection!

Holly and I left the living room, turned off all the lights, and went to
bed at 12:30 and I've been sitting in bed doing some work since then.
I got out of bed when I heard loud knocking on the door at 2:45am. It was a
Raleigh PD officer who wanted to know if I'd heard anything, etc. The house
next door to mine (new renter) had gotten broken into between 4:30pm and
2:45am (430 is when the girl left for work). I told the officer that we
actually heard nothing suspicious (and neither did our dogs).
I went over to their front yard and the girl (I think her name is Corrina
-- this was the first time I met her though Holly has met her before) told
me that they broke into the house by breaking the back door glass and then
turned the door handle and they'd taken everything-- tv, other electronics,
engagement ring, etc. She has a cat. I assume uninjured, she didn't say
otherwise.
This both figuratively and literally hit much closer to home than the other
burglaries. We feel like there's something we could have done if only we'd
heard something, and it's particularly frustrating. Even more
anger-inducing is that we didn't hear anything out of place.
If you haven't already written down the serial numbers of all your
electronics, do so immediately.
