Subject: Neighborhood Streetscape on Milburnie Rd. (Traffic Calming)

Officers of the East Citizens Advisory Council:
 
I would like to communicate to you some traffic calming planning activities underway in the East CAC district.
 
There has been a traffic calming project in development for Milburnie Road, between Raleigh Blvd and Chatham Lane since 2012, when a successful petition was submitted by the residents and property owners. We will be holding an additional meeting with the neighborhood on Wednesday, January 15, at 7 pm in the Tarboro Road Community Center. Letters inviting the residents and property owners should arrive in the mail shortly.
 
The proposed design contains only horizontal treatments (no speed humps, bumps, or tables). You are welcome to attend the meeting.
 
We anticipate taking the design to City Council in the spring for a public hearing.
