Hey neighbors,,

I hope you all had a great holidays and happy new year. I wanted to get the year started off with an update on what we have planned for this year with the LPCW. There will be plenty of activities available for you to participate and get to know your neighbors. I'll send out the 2013 meeting schedule just as soon as I confirm the dates with Enloe.

Be Part of the Process - Raleigh Parks Planning in the Longview Park Area

Some of us have continued to look at ways to participate in the Raleigh Parks 20-year planning process. The City has set up a website to solicit feedback from the community on ideas for improving the Raleigh parks system. If you haven’t been to the website, you should check it out. I put in two ideas for ways to improve locations in the LP area. Please take a look, add to them, change them or submit your own idea. The site is based on the crowd sourcing idea, so points are awarded to ideas based on the feedback they generate. Links to my ideas are below. You may have to create an account to view everything.

Be On the Lookout

There is an aggressive dog at 505 N. King Charles Rd. It is a brown and white boxer. I have seen it loose, unattended on the property multiple times, and on one of these occasions it attacked my dog. Thankfully, my dog is small enough to lift into the safety of my arms as I chased the dog back across the street. The dog owner came out and collected the dog before further incident. I have had a conversation with the landlord about the dog, and he assured me he would talk to the tenant. Still, be on the lookout in this area.
