There was actually a case report in the CAC where a Trek bike was taken.

Subject: [upha-discussion] Anyone missing a Trek bicycle?
Over a week ago, what looks to me like a quality Trek bicycle showed up on the lawn of the
apartments on the southeast corner of Chamberlain and Mayview. The folks in the apartments
say it's not theirs, so instead of watching it continue to get rained on for another
week or two, I took it in and will post a Found Bike note to Craigslist later tonight. If
anyone had a Trek bicycle go missing recently, tell me the color and a couple of the
attachments you had on it and I'll be happy to return it to you.
