Christine Darges, the City’s project leader for the rewrite of the City’s development code, released the Diagnostic and Approach DRAFT this afternoon. You can download the report using the link located at the end of her e-mail below. A link to the DRAFT should be available on the City’s website soon. Her e-mail also includes a list of upcoming events you may want to include in your calendar.

Members of the UDO Advisory Group and Planning Commission,
As you know, there is a joint meeting of the Unified Development Ordinance Advisory Group and the Planning Commission scheduled for February 3rd from 3-5pm in the Urban Design Center. The meeting will be coordinated by the project consultant, Code Studio. This is the second in a series of seven meetings that the Advisory Group will hold, where the Planning Commission members, as primary advisors to the City Council, are invited to attend. The advisory group held their first meeting as an orientation session earlier this week with staff. More meetings may be added if needed.
Following the joint session, will be a public educational workshop on form based codes, also presented by Code Studio, from 6:30-8:30 in the City Council chambers.
For your February 3rd meeting, the consultant will be presenting an overview of the recently prepared draft of the Diagnostic and Approach Report, a major project milestone. If you refer to the link below in the message from the consultant, you can download the draft for your review in advance of the meeting. If you have a preference for a printed version in advance of the meeting, please let me know and we can provide one for you. The draft document will be released to the public for review and comment on February 1, 2010 and extending through March 3rd, 2010 through our City’s website.
The Advisory Group attended an orientation this week with City staff where their roles and responsibilities were discussed as well as the project scope and background. Attached is some information about the project.
