WHAT: The Planning Staff is bringing back four (4) deferred items for
discussion -- requirements for amenity open spaces, case studies, comments
from the Technical Review Group and additions to residential dwelling units
on small lots.
SPECIAL NOTE: The Comprehensive Planning Committee will present its
recommendations for the backyard cottage at the February 5 City Council
meeting.
WHEN: Monday, February 4 at 4:00 pm.
WHERE: 222 West Hargett Street, City Council Chamber.
LIKELY HOT TOPICS:
* Case Studies: Testing the new regulations to ensure they work as
intended is no easy task, yet City Council is devoting very little time to
this activity
DEFERRED ITEMS:
* Additional Housing Patterns. The discussion about backyard cottages,
accessory apartments and cottage courts has been moved to the Comprehensive
Planning Committee. This will give the public the opportunity to make
comments.
* Resource Extraction: City Council asked the Planning Staff to
analyze this use by district and review the process for permitting this use.
* Process for Adopting UDO: City Council has requested staff to draft
the ordinance for the adoption of the UDO. This will identify the adoption
date, effective date and all transitional rules.
