[RCAC] RCAC representative on Pedestrian Transportation Plan steering committee

Hello fellow CAC leaders, I'm forwarding you all a request from Steven Waters of the Raleigh Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission. They are asking for a CAC leader to represent the community on the Pedestrian Transportation Plan steering committee, and they need to know by next Monday, Sept. 6th. Is anyone interested? I'm sure Steven can answer any questions folks might have about time commitment, etc., though it seems fairly light (four meetings spaced out through 2011). This plan will be used to identify and evaluate critical needs for planning and implementing pedestrian improvements throughout Raleigh. It will also update the current process for considering new sidewalk projects, evaluate intersections for pedestrian safety improvements, and review plans for complying with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act in public rights-of-way. Could you please identify a representative, and ask them to send me an updated resume, and a short cover letter outlining their background and perspective, interest in the Pedestrian Transportation Plan, and what they would like to see from this process? This would really help us to have a very engaging process, and only involves four meetings spaced throughout 2011.
