Welcome, Linda.
I hope you will be feeling better soon. We all look forward to meeting
you at our December RCAC Holiday social. Either Dwayne or Debbie will be
sending out all the necessary and important information about date, time and
location.

Greetings, All --
I'm sorry to say that my doctor just told me to come in for an appointment
at 4:00. It may be that she will say, "oh that cough? it's nothing!" but
if not, here's my report for tonight. I'm very sorry to miss what should be
an interesting workshop and meeting.
Glenwood CAC report:
* We had a well-attended meeting in October with two excellent
presentations: one on the city recycling program and one on the police volunteer
program.
* I was elected chair and Richard Bostic vice-chair. Margaret Link will
continue serving as secretary.
* Eleven people responded to our survey. Based on the results, we will:
-- Continue to meet every other month on the 4th Monday (we met on even
months this fall)
-- Have meetings on the topics that got the most votes, with the top one
being water conservation
-- Have a clean-up day for the green way
-- Have either a Glenwood Fair Day or a Raleigh Trolley Ride ending up at
the Raleigh History Museum
I feel good about the energy and leadership that I'm starting to see in
our CAC area, although some people were are either over committed or were
really discouraged by the council voting against us on the Women's Club Drive
change in the Raleigh 2030 Plan.
How I Got Involved:
Since I wasn't at the retreat, here's what brought me into the CAC:
* Leadership vacuum: no one else would run for chair
* Desire to strengthen the sense of community in our area
* See need for a neighborhood advocate
* It's heartwarming to see stories of neighborhood successes and to help
create some of them
Please give my sandwich to the hungriest person there if I don't show up
by 5:35.
... Linda
