Below is an update I received yesterday from Christine Darges, the Planning
Department's project leader for the UDO.
Christine references info on the website. The link is
http://www.newraleighcode.com/ . It appears we will be receiving a
newsletter for regular updates. A sample is attached.

Philip,
We have been discussing the revisions to the workscope, transition
workshops, timeline and internal mapping of the urban form map with Code
Studio this week and will be getting into more detail by next week. As we
have not delved into the logistics, I cannot provide any information on the
development of a guide as of yet.
We have posted an update on the web to reflect the CC actions on May 4th as
well as the dates for the workshop and focus groups for June 22 and 23.
Details about the locations and specific times will be provided soon.
Attached is a newsletter that is being distributed to the CAC's through the
Planning staff over the next month.
I am currently working on an e-mail to the Advisory Group with this
information and revisiting and hoping to reserve some meeting dates and
times over the next months into the summer.

Christine,
Last night I updated the RCAC about the UDO project. Specifically, I
reviewed the direction Council gave to Code Studio on May 4th.
To prepare for the arrival of the urban form map in August, it would be
helpful to have a guide that explains what the map is and how it should be
used. I recommended the RCAC have a workshop before the map's arrival so
everyone is prepared to use it effectively at CAC meetings. I will be giving
an update about the UDO at my next Five Points CAC meeting on June 9th. If
you are willing to prepare a draft for a guide, I will agree to test it at
the meeting.
Also, are you preparing a revised schedule that documents the timeline
discussed at the Council meeting?
