DID THE RESOLUTION FOR NOTIFICATIONS GET FORWARDED TO CITY COUNCIL?
NOTIFICATIONS ARE ON THIS AGENDA.
_____
WHAT: The Planning Staff is bringing back five (5) deferred items for
discussion -- notification process, amenity open space, residential density
and infrastructure requirements, inclusionary housing and case studies.
SPECIAL NOTE: The Comprehensive Planning Committee will present its
recommendations for the backyard cottage at the February 5 City Council
meeting.
WHEN: Monday, January 28 at 4:00 pm.
WHERE: 222 West Hargett Street, City Council Chamber.
LIKELY HOT TOPICS:
* Notification Process: new approval processes makes an effective
notification system essential. New technologies makes this achievable.
* Residential Densities: City Council wants to know how infrastructure
capacity will affect residential density in mixed use districts.
DEFERRED ITEMS:
* Additional Housing Patterns. The discussion about backyard cottages,
accessory apartments and cottage courts has been moved to the Comprehensive
Planning Committee. This will give the public the opportunity to make
comments.
* Resource Extraction: City Council asked the Planning Staff to
analyze this use by district and review the process for permitting this use.
* Small Lot Additions: The UDO doesn't include adequate rules for
additions that convert single family units into apartments.
