Sometimes a description is simply factual - not racist. The person who posted the initial warning has enough of a history of posting in a concerned, neighborly fashion that I interpret his post as informative. Even if I had not observed his past behavior I would not have instantly questioned his manner of description in a way that implied bigotry. That is presumptuous and unproductive. Conveying potentially important information quickly is part of the reason for having these boards. Publicly questioning someones motives based on the description they used is not going to encourage an atmosphere of cooperation or helpfulness. Around noon today, a sharp-eyed neighbor spotted two young men on the porch of a neighbor's house. This neighbor called 911 and police were out in full force in minutes, but not in time to catch the suspects. They had time to pile electronics behind the house but as far as I know they escaped without any stolen items. Neighbors believe the men were first posing as solicitors. Take special note of strangers in your neighborhood. If you see anything unusual please call it in and have RPD check it out.
