> Good afternoon neighbors. This afternoon the Raleigh City Council approved funds to purchase the former Dunkin Doughnuts property for the proposed future North Boulevard Park. It is my understanding that the proposed transaction is scheduled to close sometime in November. Demolition of the building should occur shortly thereafter.

> On next Tuesday's city council agenda is an item requesting approval of FEMA funding to purchase and demolish the Capital Inn, of course, located on Capital Boulevard. The grant amount is around 1.3 million dollars. Since this program is completely voluntary, the owner and city must agree on a mutually agreeable price to complete the purchase. This is a huge step forward and hopefully the property will be purchased and demolished in the near future. Let me know if anyone has any questions.

A friend of mine was in an auto accident a couple of days ago, and his car
is not repairable. I am just throwing this out there - if anyone has an
older, reliable car they are trying to get rid of, please let me know. He
has been out of work for a while, so I imagine his funds are limited.
Thanks. Kathy
I have a friend who has to move from his apartment this week. He is a
mature, single man, semi-retired. He is active in his church and quite
scholarly. He is quiet, trustworthy and meticulous. Is there anyone out
there looking to rent a room, or have a long-term house-sitter that is
hoping for someone reliable and responsible? If so, let me know and I will
arrange a meeting.
Thanks!
Kathy Fusco
