Reported burglary at the corner of Rumson and Marlborough, items were taken in a red Adidas bag between on 6-8 pm on Tuesday night. Did anyone notice a person carrying this? The burglar entered through the window and nextdoor neighbors had their screens removed. If you see anything suspicious call it in! I've attempted to fwd the original post and her flyer below. Vanessa 2248 Rumson Rd.

Our next or neighbors had screens pulled off their windows.

Very unnerving! We have an alarm system but even that doesn't feel like
enough any more. Been keeping my laptop at work just to be on the safe
side. I really hope an effort is made by RPD to crush this crime ring and
improve the neighborhood.

From Nextdoor, another back door kicked this Sunday evening on Brighton.
Replacing the short strike plate screws with longer three inch screws that are secured deeper in the studs can keep the door's locks more secure too.
> Our friends, the Burkes, live on Brighton and were broken into just now. We realized they were not on Next Door so my husband was texting them an invite and told him there had been a string of break-ins, 2 seconds later that friend called to tell us they were just broken into. They were only gone for two hours, same drill: back door kicked in, back lightbulb unscrewed.
> Ridiculous. There needs to be some patrolling around here. Obviously this is becoming a perpetual problem and there are some folks out there that need to be caught. I can't believe that these people are not being seen or heard taking all this stuff.

Howdy neighbors,
A neighbor on Glascock was burglarized last night and posted to our neighborhood's Nextdoor the following message below. Other neighbors reported in the same thread of other recent burglaries on Somerset, N King Charles as well. Please call 911 if you notice anything suspicious and let your nearby neighbors know if you will be away over the Holidays.
Best,
Vanessa

Since we heard about the string of break ins in the area we keep our porch lights on after dark. This did not help. The literally ripped the light fixture off the side of the house. Back door kicked in. They took 3 laptop computers, 1 school computer, guitar, tv, canon camera, PS3 and my sense of security. We did everything we thought we could. Don't be me! Get a security system!!!! I will be doing so ASAP!

Dear Neighbors,
Our small orange cat has gone missing. He was last seen in our yard at the
corner of Millbank Street and Brighton Road at 4 p.m. When I went outside
to feed him and the dogs a short time later, he was gone, and we haven't
seen him since. He is always home at dinnertime, so this is very unusual.
If you see him, could you please let me know? His name is Bones. Here's a

Thank you,
Sue Sturgis
2119 Millbank St.
A sweet girl was found today on Millbank. I've attached a photo of her to this message, but in case it isn't viewable she's a young grey and white female pit with a red collar. If you know who her family is please contact Joann @ (919) 866-9094, 2301 Millbank. Thanks, Vanessa

FYI this screenshot was shared last night through the BPW listserv of a suspected burglar handle checking back doors on Tonsler (near Lions Park) just after midnight on Tuesday. He has a white t-shirt covering his hand. Keep a light on and that back door locked!
If it is a rose, it will come into bloom sooner or later.

Yikes, see email below. Watkins is adjacent to Lions Park. Good reminder to record serial numbers & cellphone pictures are easy to make and keep handy. Best, Vanessa 2248 Rumson

It appears as though they came through the park and kicked in the back door breaking the wood around the bolt, but we can't be sure. If anyone saw anything suspicious in the parking lot that backs to Watkins St please let me know.
