Found maybe a couple dozen vacuum cleaner bags while cleaning the basement.
They may have been there for decades, but look fine to me. It appears they
fit any electrolux vacuum, but don't know for sure. I hate throwing stuff
away that someone might make use of. If you can use them you're welcome to
them and I'll feel better than taking them to the dump.
There is also an Elfa rolling cart, about 2 ft square and 4 ft high with 5
sliding drawers. I never found it useful. For me it was just one more place
to collect random junk rather than sort/store stuff. YMMV. The drawers are
slightly undersized for the frame (about 6" less deep), but everything is
in pretty good shape.

Hurray, our neighborhood will have free bulky waste pickup on May 18! Please be on the lookout for a postcard and more information regarding what can and cannot be left at the curb in the near future.
This is a great opportunity for some spring cleaning, so please let your nearby neighbors, especially folks who maybe elderly or not on the listserv know too.
Best,
Vanessa

> Just wanted to let you know that the Greater Lockwood Community Watch area has “made the cut” and will be able to participate in a community wide clean-up. May 18 is the date that we have been able to fit you in, and I will be in touch later with details. The Community Services Dept. will send out information postcards to all residents within the area and it will list what the City will and will not pick-up curbside. There are some exclusions such as car batteries, tires and a few other things based on the fact that disposal of certain items is controlled by State law, so the City has to exclude certain items, which will be listed on the postcard.

This would be a great opportunity. Is Lockwood/Woodcrest on the official register? I'm located at 2248 Rumson Rd.
Thanks a bunch,

Dear members of various EastRaleigh lists.
The hosting provider that I have used to host the EastRaleigh.Org
website and lists is closing up shop this week. I am in the midst of
migrating the lists to a new provider and have full backups of the site.
During the migration process you might experience rejected emails to the
mailing lists or other snafus. These issues should only be temporary and
should all be resolved within a few days.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Feel free to call or
email me if you have any questions.

Good morning,
If you have yet to vote or lend a comment to this issue please consider adding your experiences with the CoR.
This issue has received more votes than the Glascock/NKC four way stop, yet it has been over four months since Public Works was tasked to provide a solution to this dangerous traffic snarl.

Dangerous left turn lanes caused by driver confusion
Reported by aqua1117 on 11/26/2012 at 08:27AM
Location: Raleigh Blvd And Barksdale Rd Raleigh, NC
Description: Clearer signs and/or pavement markings are needed at the intersection of Raleigh Blvd and Barksdale Dr. There are two distinct left turn lane opportunities on northbound Raleigh Blvd that are very close to one another. One is for turning left (westbound) to Barksdale, and the next is for turning left (west) on Crabtree. Frequently, a driver headed north on Raleigh Blvd gets into the left turn lane before Barksdale and continues straight through the Raleigh/Barksdale intersection, assuming that it is the turn lane for Crabtree. If drivers make this assumption, they run the risk of a head-on collision, because they will drive right through the southbound left turn lane onto Barksdale Dr. On Saturday, a driver nearly hit me head-on as I was waiting to turn left (east) on Barksdale. Fortunately, this driver was able to swerve just in time, but in doing so almost hit the another car in the next lane. It was very scary because there was no way I could have avoided getting hit by this oncoming car if they had not been able to get over. Perhaps updated pavement markings and/or a concrete median would help drivers realize that they cannot get into the left turn lane for Crabtree early. Thanks for taking a look at this!
SeeClickFix is a free web app that encourages residents to become active citizens by reporting non-emergency issues in their neighborhood.
If it is a rose, it will come into bloom sooner or later.

Hi Rebecca! I hope all is going well! We are having an event at Powell on Saturday March 23rd from 8:30-11:30am where we will be distributing trees to the Lockwood neighborhood families and Powell families. :) Our grade 4/5 Ecology elective wrote the proposal to the National Wildlife Foundation and the NWF is donating 100 trees to Powell. The Ecology students wanted to do this activity because they knew our neighborhood lost many great trees during the tornados...and this would replace where trees were destroyed. But they don't have to be missing a tree to get a free one. Anyone in the Lockwood neighborhood is eligible! I've attached a press release with more information...I was wondering if you wanted to send out this info via the Lockwood group so the neighborhood knows to come our school on Saturday, March 23rd from 8:30-11:30am if they would like a free tree? :) Whatcha' think? Subject: [Lockwood] Nice home for rent?
I have a friend looking for a nice home in Longview or Lockwood area.
It would be for a young couple with a dog. She is looking for
somewhere in very good condition, preferably with a fenced in yard.
Two bedrooms would be okay. If you know of a place, please email me
off list with details.
Thanks!
