I have a friend looking for a nice home in Longview or Lockwood area.
It would be for a young couple with a dog. She is looking for
somewhere in very good condition, preferably with a fenced in yard.
Two bedrooms would be okay. If you know of a place, please email me
off list with details.
Thanks!

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a Zumba fitness class
at the RealFitt on Brookside Drive. It's $5, they offer childcare
($2.50 per child), and you don't have to be a member of the gym to
attend. You can find out more here:
http://www.meetup.com/ZumbaFitnesswithKandace/
Note that the classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights and the one on
Saturday mornings is at this location. The Friday night class is at
Rapid Fitness on Falls of the Neuse. You need to RSVP for the classes
at the URL above.
I'm told that Zumba is a lot of fun, very accessible for those new to
fitness and still a good workout for those who are already in shape. I
plan to give it a try this week, and hope to see some familiar faces!

I've attached the police calls/stats from Nov 12 - Jan 13 for the East
CAC. As you can see, some are in the greater Lockwood area. A reminder
to keep doors and windows locked, car doors locked and valuables
hidden, and not to leave your car idling in a driveway!

Here are the call stats from Novembers CAC until early today; I will
present them at the meeting tonight.

Subject: [East-CAC] suspicious solicitation
To: east-cac(a)eastraleigh.org
Hi Neighbors,
I just had a strange interaction with a solicitor. A woman just came
to my back door with her hand over her eyes to shield her view from
the glare on the glass storm door and appeared to be trying to see
inside. It did not look like she saw that I was inside. I came to
door and asked if I could help her, and she showed me a laminated
flyer and said that she was offering floor cleaning. She appeared to
be looking inside my house to see what kinds of floor I had as she
made up her spiel about the kinds of floors that they cleaned. I told
her I wasn't interested. Then I asked why she came to my back door
instead of the front door. She said that she saw my car parked behind
the house and thought that would be where I would be. I said, Well,
usually people come to the front door. She walked back down my
driveway and got into a brown SUV that was stopped on the street (not
in the driveway). This was very strange because my house it as the
top of a hill in a no-parking zone, and cars do not usually stop right
there. The SUV drove off as soon as she got in and went down the
road.
The woman was wearing a black sweatsuit (zippered black jacket and
black pants). She was around average height (probably 5'6" or so),
white complexion, spoke with a bit of an Eastern European accent,
black hair with gray that was pulled back. It looked like there
were at least two other people in the SUV.
I just called the police to report this suspicious behavior. Please
be on the lookout.
Thanks,
Ann
