Subject: Venita Peyton for Mayor
Good morning!
As you know, freedom is not free. Neither is change. Change is critical when we see wrong and find no one willing to challenge it. While doing nothing is comfortable, it is always costly to someone in the end.
We have an immediate need to raise $5000 to tell voters the value of changing how the City of Raleigh serves its citizens.. As you ponder why you should care, let me ask you this:
*Did you know that the right people in local office can impact state and federal decisions?
Your support is critical. The past 7 days have required answering extensive questionnaires and interviews from the business community to the environmentalists. Shortly the debates begin.
People who know what they want have been financially supporting candidates for years and seem richly rewarded. Some expect change by playing the lottery, while others seem paralyzed by fear. What about you? Are you willing to take a stand?
Our campaign message is simple. Raleigh should equitably spend its time and vast resources throughout the City. Our thriving downtown includes free bus rides between restaurants, while other communities can't keep a grocery store (but can get stuck with another McDonald's). Economic development has meant showing up to cut ribbons with companies who've found us on their own. Those who claim our employment picture has brightened seem oblivious to the head of households who still crowd job fairs and pay weekly rates of $250 or more to live in motels.
Again, your support is critical. Please add your voice by writing your check to the Committee to Elect Venita Peyton. Our treasurer, Trevena Garel (also a busy working woman), has completed extensive campaign training. She and other campaign volunteers (including myself) are willing to pick up your donation if necessary. Her email is tkgarel(a)gmail.com.
Again, your support is needed today. Because today is all we have.
Venita Peyton, Candidate for Mayor of Raleigh

Hey neighbors,
Thank you to everybody who came out to the Grill n' Chill on Tuesday. We had a great turnout and a lot of fun. We had new faces and a few we haven't seen in quite some time. I want to say special thanks to Deborah for all she did, Joel for the bouncy castle (the kids had a blast!), Ginger and Luis for all their help and Karen and Mr. Roberts for all the great food. It was also great to see Officer K. It was definitely a neighborhood effort.
I hope everybody who attended had a good time.
Matt

Wow! I got flooded with responses about the bricks. Who knew?
I have someone supposedly coming soon to get them, but if that does not work out, I will go down the list. Thanks for all the interests, and I am sorry that I will not be able to accommodate everyone.
