Subject: Fertile Ground Food Co-Op in Southeast Raleigh: Follow-Up and Announcement!
Good evening fellow cooperative-minded people!
THANK YOU for joining us at the June 25th Community Forum! Attached are some brief notes from our time together. Please excuse our delay in reconnecting. Things have been awesomely busy on our end...
We are moving forward with formally incorporating AND also with hosting a follow-up meeting on August 13th (attached are the flyers in English and Spanish). Although we expect new folks to join this broader conversation on access to healthy food in Southeast Raleigh, there will be a break-out group that will be focusing on moving forward with the food cooperative (which we hope will include YOU!)
Please JOIN US and PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!
In vibrant health,
Ajamu, Rukiya, Erin, Marcie, Kia, Deron and Zulayka
Fertile Ground Food Cooperative Core Leadership Team
Hey folks,
I hope everyone had a good weekend. Well, the Grill n' Chill is tomorrow, and I'm really looking forward to seeing you all there. It looks like the weather will cooperate with us tomorrow too, just a 30% chance of isolated storms tomorrow evening. Come on out! It's a great way to meet your neighbors and we'll be supporting National Night Out. Here's the skinny: bring items you want to grill such as meat, vegetables, veggie burgers, etc. You can bring enough just for yourself, or you can bring enough to share. People are encouraged to bring side items or desserts to share if they wish, but it isn't a requirement. The idea is to come participate, meet your neighbors and have a good time.
Our neighbors our providing a grill to use and coolers to keep our perishables and drinks fresh and cool.
We'll need a few able-bodied folks to help setup and break down/cleanup, so if you fit that category, please come on out to help.
We're trying to keep the amount of waste generated by this event down to a minimum, so we encourage folks to bring their own reusable cups, plates and utensils.
Items you can bring
Drinks - sorry no alcoholItems to grill and shareYour own cups, plates and forksBug spray, bug candles, etc.Condiments: ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo, etc.Friends and neighbors, but please leave the four-legged family members at home
