Thanks Officer Kryskowiak. I didn't receive the email but I'm glad you'll be
there. I'll get back to you on a date.

Matt,
I thought I sent you the email saying I was going to be there but I guess it was
someone else; I have had a few emails requesting me to show up tomorrow and at least one
phone call to my supervisor asking who the officer for this area was and if he could also
be there. If possible please keep each other informed. I will be there but I am still
waiting on word from you all about a separate date to do the burglary prevention style
meeting. I just need a date and a location.

Subject: Re: [longview-park-community-watch] Re: Break-in at 2433 Stevens Rd
I'm very sorry to hear about yet another break-in the area. The recent surge in
break-ins and thefts in the area is very alarming and demands an adequate response from
the police in the form of increased patrols in our area. I have reached out to Officer K
more than once to come to our next LPCW meeting (9/11 at 7:00 in Enloe media center)
and/or hold a seminar on target hardening and burglary prevention. I have not received a
response yet. I would also like to see an increase in the program to park police cruisers
in our area as a deterrent.
First and foremost, as a community we need to look out for one another by reporting
anything out of the ordinary. We as neighbors can also increase or presence in the area.
The weather is turning nice so isn't it a good time for a walk around the
neighborhood? I work from home and I'll be taking longer walks with my dog during the
day when possible. Take your cell phone and don't be afraid to call in anything
suspicious to 911. Working together as a community with the police is our best option to
solve this problem.

This sucks. Hopefully we can get patrols stepped up in the neighborhood. If anyone has
glass in their backdoor, it might be a good idea to install a lock the requires a key on
both sides.

I got out of bed when I heard loud knocking on the door at 2:45am. It was a Raleigh PD
officer who wanted to know if I'd heard anything, etc. The house next door to mine
(new renter) had gotten broken into between 4:30pm and 2:45am (430 is when the girl left
for work). I told the officer that we actually heard nothing suspicious (and neither did
our dogs).
I went over to their front yard and the girl (I think her name is Corrina -- this was the
first time I met her though Holly has met her before) told me that they broke into the
house by breaking the back door glass and then turned the door handle and they'd taken
everything-- tv, other electronics, engagement ring, etc. She has a cat. I assume
uninjured, she didn't say otherwise.
This both figuratively and literally hit much closer to home than the other burglaries.
We feel like there's something we could have done if only we'd heard something,
and it's particularly frustrating. Even more anger-inducing is that we didn't hear
anything out of place.
If you haven't already written down the serial numbers of all your electronics, do so
immediately.
