Become an ESL
volunteerThe English as a
Second Language (ESL) Program welcomes people from all
backgrounds to participate in classes, activities, and
events that celebrate the
diversity of our city. As part of the program, free classes
are taught to adults by volunteer instructors. This
volunteer opportunity offers a chance for passionate
individuals to make a difference in their community.
To become a volunteer ESL
instructor, you can have any level of teaching experience.
Instructors are expected to attend orientation and trainings
as well as commit to at least one six week class session.

NCRPA Visa Check
CardThe NCRPA Visa
check card was created exclusively by the Local Government
Federal Credit Union (LGCFU) for volunteers and employees of
parks and
recreation departments across North Carolina. As an
volunteer with a local government parks and recreation
department in North Carolina, you are eligible to join
LGFCU. With every purchase you make with your card,
LGFCU donates 50% of its share of
the net merchant's fee to NCRPA. The card costs you
nothing to use. Interested individuals can learn more
information by visiting the NCRPA webpage.
August V.I.Ps Our volunteers
in
parks (VIPs) withstood the hot temperatures and humidity and
completed volunteer projects at seven parks throughout the
City. During the month of July, the department had 161
individuals
volunteer over 260 hours. Thanks for your outstanding
volunteer service to
the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources
Department.
