Thank you, Matt - we will tune in for sure! My husband and I have been watching the news
in horror, talking about how recently our son, a young black male, went for a run with his
hoodie up due to the cold. At the time we sort of joked about it, saying "I hope
someone doesn't call the police on him for taking a jog." But after watching the
parents of that child in Florida, we have shuddered to think it is actually a more serious
issue. It's probably a really good time for us all to step back and figure out how to
keep each other safe and informed without fostering a tense environment in our wonderful
neighborhoods.

Hey everyone,
I was just interviewed by WTVD 11 News because of LPCW. They are running a story about
community watch groups in the wake of the tragedy down in Florida. I reiterated the
group's stance that we focus on the "community" part of community watch, and
that we in no way advocate vigilante behavior. We are about building a positive sense of
community in the Longview Park area.
The story will air tonight on the CW channel during their 10:00 news and on WTVD News at
11:00.
Sorry for the reposts.
Take care,
Matt Leary
