Greetings:
I could not attend your meeting at Powell School on Nov. 18, but I may
be interested in joining the Watch. I live on Remington Rd., right
behind Powell School. Pleas send me more information.
Thank you, and have a good day.

Yesterday the house at 704 Hartford Road, which belongs to a friend of a friend of mine, was broken into. The backdoor was splintered, when it was kicked in, and a wondow was broken. The couple and their 6 month old daughter left the house at 3:30 to go to the store, they came back an hour and ahalf later.. Stolen from the house were a 46 inch tv, a computer, some baby things, and other items. The thieves left a mess. My friend Kelly and her friends went from house to house asking if anyone had seen or heard anything, nobody had. Strange since people where outside working in their yards. Kelly and her friends came by my house to explain why they would not be attending my birthday party. They told me on the corner was a Community Watch sign. These people who just moved into the neighborhood now want to move out of a neighborhood, not just because of the breakin. Their opinion of the community watch is that "It is made up of a bunch of
damn assholes who call themselves community watchers who are good for nothing. If people in on the street are interested in stopping crime, then why didn't any of the so called good neighbors call the police. Several people where outside. How did anyone miss seeing a 42 inch tv being carried to the front yard, from the backdoor? " That is my question also. How many people at the community watch meeting where home between 3:30 and 5:30 when the crime was commited? Come on if anyone was home, how come nobody heard anything or saw anything? On my end of the street, those who are home, when when loud noises occur at a neighbors house go see what is happening. We need to try to stop crime, not hide from it. If anyone has any information about this breakin please call the police or call me Timberley Valentine at 832-4145. Thanks
A neighbor from another list has identified the couple with the rake, and
the information was sent to Officer Krysko and another RPD officer.
Hopefully they'll be cleared as just good people looking for work, but I'll
let you know if I hear otherwise.

Don't know if it's worth mentioning or not, but shortly after I got home
(Rumson Rd; got home near 4:00) I noticed a man and woman going from house
to house; the man was carrying a rake and did approach one neighbour to ask
if they wanted their yard done but they only walked up to my porch and tried
the doors. I was curious as to why two people with one rake would be
offering yard services.

My house was broken into about two years ag o . Allof my jewelry was stolen,
they never caught the person, I've never felt safe since then. Joanne Matthews

I live at 2349 MillbankSt. Glenn James lives at 2351. We have a little dog named
Max, Glenn walks him all the time. We would like a neighborhood watch sign,if
you could tell us how to get one, Thank- you, Joanne Matthews
I was thinking it would be nice to have a group from the Community Watch who
puts together and delivers a care package to families in our neighborhood
that experience a break-in or other stranger-crime. It could include
supportive notes from neighbors, cookies, info about the Community Watch
email list, or something along those lines.
If you'd be interested in heading this up or helping out, let me know. We
have at least one (sounds like two) families to start with, given this
morning.

See our Community Watch coverage map here:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=1101477237049572069…
We have covered this area quite well but do still have some pockets where we
need more neighbors. If you know anyone in the "empty" spots of the
black-outlined area (marked "Greater Lockwood Community Watch"), please
encourage them to join us.
(Ignore the "King Charles" green area, that's just the name for this side of
town.)

If you or your family walks dogs in the neighborhood, send me your address
off-list and I'll change your icon on our map to reflect that. I'm trying to
get a good sense of our group's reach.
(So far I have only Sue Sturgis.)

Neighbors:
If you missed the meeting (or the sign-in sheet), could you email me your
address? I am working on a map of houses that are community watch members.
