The Fall meeting for our neighborhood watch will be Thursday, Nov 18, 7pm,
at Powell Elementary School (front entrance). You should receive a flyer or
postcard in the next week, but just a heads up in case it gets lost in the
mail.
We'll be discussing:
* Crimes since August in our area
* Resources for Seniors program
* Lockwood Community Watch yard signs
* Call for volunteer "block captains"
* The latest improvements at Food Lion, with store manager Ronneil Robinson
I would like to get an idea of how many people are willing to pay for half
the cost of a Neighborhood Watch sign (personalized with "Lockwood" added).
If enough people are interested, we can get an order together. The cost per
person would be $6.50 (cash), which you'd need to bring to the meeting or
get to me in another way. But first I need to see if we have enough to
place an order.

See Mark Turner's message and the WRAL link below. The victim's address on
his May arrest was one of the Raleigh North apartments, but the last address
police have (from June) was off Rock Quarry Rd. The (alleged) shooter's
picture is on the WRAL link below and was living at E. Lenoir St. most
recently, it seems. Both have given multiple addresses over the last year,
so it's hard to say for sure if either lived nearby.

Here's the latest on the Colleton Rd shooting.
By the way, Blossom had a lengthy, violent criminal record for such a
young man. Sad.

To: Longview/Lockwood <longview(a)eastraleigh.org>

We heard five gunshots Sunday morning that sounded close to our house. We
called 911 and ten minutes later five cops were at the rental house across
the street. I've spoken with the property owner, and apparently another
neighbor saw the shooter and called the police. My understanding is the
shooter was targeting 2329 Glascock St. (the house the police were
visiting), but I later saw the cops emerge from the backyard with multiple
rifles. So...who knows.
While the older lady renting the house has been pleasant, the property has
had an uncomfortable amount of young people hanging out that aren't on the
lease. I hate to be a cynic, but I'm not terribly surprised to see something
go wrong at this property again.
I emailed Officer K yesterday, but haven't heard anything. I'll let everyone
know if I do.
