Kudos to RPD for arresting these guys!
Krysko, will there be additional charges? Any further word on the victim?

Two arrested in connection with Raleigh drive-by shooting
Raleigh police on Sunday confirmed that they have made two arrests in
connection with a shooting that wounded a 15-year-old Raleigh boy March 26.
The shooting happened in the front yard of a home at 125 Bertie Dr.
during a house party. Investigators say the boy was out in the yard
shortly after 1 a.m. when someone in a dark red Cadillac drove by and
opened fire.
The injured teen, whose identity was not released, was shot in the
stomach and taken to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries.
Anthony Leon Evans, 21, and Justin Carlton Jones, 16, have been arrested
and charged with assault and possession a stolen firearm.
Following the shooting, neighbors in the area expressed concern about
the violence and said they were surprised that the victim was a young teen.

Did anyone around the Milburnie/Donnelly intersection hear the boom that happened about 11:30 tonight? (about 10-15 mins ago). I had just fallen asleep but it woke up my fiancé and dog and they woke me up. I called the cops. My fiancé said it may have been a gunshot. I really wish they'd keep up the patrol on Milburnie....we looked out and before we saw the cop drive by there was a group of about 5 or 6 kids (teens?) running down the street towards the New Bern end of Milburnie....at 11:30 at night. I know it's Spring Break, but still...

Tonight about 20 mins ago (9pm) I was taking our dog out to potty when a gold or silver mid sized car (Camry or civic or something) that looked to be maybe a 2000 model or around that year pulled up right in front of our house and just sat for a while...I couldn't tell but it looked like they were checking us out. I took my dog back in immediately and called the police and asked them to please make sure they step up patrol on Milburnie and in Longview in general tonight. The car did a u turn and left back towards New Burn (we live on Milburnie). It may have been nothing, but with the shooting last week, better safe than sorry. Just a heads up.

Some of you may have read on the East CAC board (I think) that one of our
finest area citizens (not) dumped a dog off on Stevens Road. I saw the dog
this morning, and I called Animal Control. An officer came out, but as of
1:00 ish today had not found the dog.
The dog is very cute. And fast. He/she is a long-haired terrier type,
with white/gray hair.

There was also a shooting in Victoria Place last night near the corner
of Dickens and Calvert. Car windows were shot out and the Victoria
Place sign sustained some damage, but at least no one (that we know
of) was hurt. Busy night for shootings unfortunately! Call the cops if
you hear or see anything that is suspicious!

Thank you, Matt - we will tune in for sure! My husband and I have been watching the news in horror, talking about how recently our son, a young black male, went for a run with his hoodie up due to the cold. At the time we sort of joked about it, saying "I hope someone doesn't call the police on him for taking a jog." But after watching the parents of that child in Florida, we have shuddered to think it is actually a more serious issue. It's probably a really good time for us all to step back and figure out how to keep each other safe and informed without fostering a tense environment in our wonderful neighborhoods.

Hey everyone,
I was just interviewed by WTVD 11 News because of LPCW. They are running a story about community watch groups in the wake of the tragedy down in Florida. I reiterated the group's stance that we focus on the "community" part of community watch, and that we in no way advocate vigilante behavior. We are about building a positive sense of community in the Longview Park area.
The story will air tonight on the CW channel during their 10:00 news and on WTVD News at 11:00.
Sorry for the reposts.
Take care,
