Subject: [Stevens Road] Loose doggy
To: stevens-road-raleigh-nc(a)googlegroups.com
We just saw a shar-pei/pug/bulldog looking guy trotting around on
Locke by himself. We were in the car and stopped to call to him but he
ran off. He's mostly brown/tan and had a leather looking collar with
no tags! Just wanted to send a heads up if anyone sees him!
Hi neighbors,
Many people in the area have commented about the trash and other debris in the stream along Locke between North King Charles and Bertie. Now is your chance to help clean it up! Come on out on Saturday April 28 from 10:00 to 2:00 to help with the Stream and Street cleanup on Locke Lane. This effort is scheduled to coincide with the NCDOT 2012 Spring Litter Sweep (April 14-28). We are also working with the Adopt-a-Stream program to provide materials and support for the cleanup effort. This is a great way to meet some more of your neighbors and help make the neighborhood a better place.
There is also an opportunity to win cash prizes!! Pepsico in conjunction with the Spring Litter Sweep is holding a contest to find the most unusual litter. Cash prizes for the most unusual litter items go all the way up to $250! What a great way to put some extra change in your pocket while helping a good cause at the same time.
Where and when:- Saturday April 28 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM- Meeting location will be at the corner of Bertie and Locke. Ask for Sheri.
What will be provided:- Trash bags- Safety vests- Latex gloves- Trash pickup
What you need to bring:- Appropriate clothing, such as boots, hat, etc.- Bug spray- Sunscreen- Work gloves. We may have a few extra pairs, but if you have some, please bring them.
We welcome all participants, but if you're under 18, we'll need written parental consent. Let me know if you need a consent form, and I'll email it to
you.
Kind regards,Matt LearyChairperson, Longview Park Community Watch

Subject: [East-CAC] lost dog
Hello neighbors.
My granddaughter's dog escaped from our house this afternoon, and has been seen in the area of Timber Drive and Lora Lane. She is a chihuahua mix, brown with wiry hair. She has a
tiny light dot on her nose. She is a new rescue, and my daughter had not had a chance to have her chipped yet, but she has just recently been spayed (and still has stitches). Unfortunately, since she was supposed to be safely ensconced in our house, she also does not have a collar or tag. Her name is Chocolate, but since she was just recently rescued she doesn't always
respond to her name. She is lightning quick and pretty skittish. I have attached a photo. I have also posted fliers on Timber Drive and on Watkins St., which is where we live. If you see her, please call my cell phone: 919.621.3408.
Thank you.

FYI
Cop just came by and asked if anyone ran through our yard because there was
just a robbery somewhere nearby.
That's all I know but just wanted to pass it on so you can lock your doors
etc.

Sent from my iPhone, please excuse any typos...
When I left For work this morning I notice someone had went thru my
car, last night.. They left my consul open than my winter gloves and
power cords on my front seat. Nothing was taken. You may want to make
sure your car is locked.
I called the distric office and asked an officer to come by and they said someone would come....it's been half an hour though. I'll make sure to be more specific next time.
Everyone watch out though
We just had a black male, maybe 16 years old, gray sweatshirt ring our doorbell at 9:20 at night and ask for money. I didn't open the door, told him to leave and called the police. They didn't come by our house, not that I saw....definitely didn't come to talk to us.
Ben just ran into a woman while walking our dogs, who said she has lost her white boxer. The dog has no collar and lives on Lord Ashley. We have her contact information if anyone finds him.
On Saturday from 10:00-3:00 Historic Oak View County Park will host Pet Bull Palooza with free rabies vaccinations, free spay and neuter vouchers, toys, treats, and more. Please spread the word to anyone you know in the 27610 or 27601 zip codes with a pit bull terrier or pit mix in need of these important services. More info in the attached flier.
