Hi LPCW'ers,
Just a heads up if you haven't heard already, there were three houses on
Milburnie that were broken into last week. From what i've heard TVs were
stolen, as was a gun. All three occurred around mid-day with forced entry
through back door.
Please be extra vigilant and don't hesitate to call 911 if you see anyone
or anything that looks suspicious.
Doors locked,
Ginger

Hey Deborah,
Thank you for your email. Vanessa and I are doing well, and so is my mom. We all moved to a house off of Ridge Rd. We sold my mother’s house, and now she lives with me and Vanessa. She has her own apartment with a kitchen, bath, office and laundry. So, it works out well for us. Yes, you heard correctly; Vanessa and I are new parents as well. Vanessa gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in February. His name is Daniel and he’s a beautiful boy. Needless to say, we have had our hands full lately, so I haven’t dedicated much time to the LPCW lately. If possible, I’d like to transition the LPCW to somebody living in the area. If you all would like to meet to transition the LPCW stuff, I’m happy to do so. Just let me know.
Take care,
Matt

Subject: Milburnie Road Traffic Calming Recommendations
Greetings:
I attended the March 4, 2014 Council meeting at which the City's proposed plan was presented. I shared some comments at that meeting. This email is to offer additional information and cost associated with a revised plan. I plan to send this to the other Council members but desire to share it with you first. If you wish to contact me about this letter before I send it to other Council members, you may contact me by phone at 919-834-4875 or reply to this email by 8:00AM March 20, 2014.. If you desire to share this information with the Transportation Planning Department, I do not object. They might adjust the options cost to account for unknown requirements. My conversation with some of the street property owners and residents revealed that they did not expect anything as proposed and do not like it. My letter was prepared to submit positive information and not to criticize their plan in a negative manner. I have been informed that the East
Citizens Advisory Council has not voted on the proposed plan although presentations have been shared. I hope this is helpful in selecting the best solution to correct the speeding concerns. Thank you for you efforts concerning this concern.
>>>>> F.Y.I. <<<<< Please remember to put your Yellow-Gold/Blk. East Community Meeting signs out tomorrow for Monday March 17th thank you hope to see you then.

All-In Nation: An America that Works for All http://www.allinnation.org, a new book by the Center for American Progress and PolicyLink, proposes that equity-just and fair inclusion of all-is the answer, and a growing chorus of economists, policymakers, and business and community leaders agree. There was a deliberate effort by the Longview Park Community Watch (LPCW)
to engage Enloe on this and other related issues. We met with school
officials and discussed strategies for proactively engaging students on the
issue, including a concept where student organizations would design,
decorate, and deploy trashcans along Bertie Drive (if LPCW could provide
the trashcans). Reactive/punitive measures were also considered. In
addition,LPCW partnered with the Enloe National Honor Society to conduct
cleanups through the City of Raleigh's Adopt-A-Stream program. These
efforts were suspended during the stream restoration project, but now might
be a good time to rekindle them.
