Traffic-Calming Projects Head for Public Hearing
Raleigh City Council today authorized the City of Raleigh Public Works Department to seek public input on the design aspects of seven traffic-calming projects scheduled for completion in the spring of 2014. Council will receive public input during its November 5 evening meeting. Each project is included in the project list approved by Council in September 2012.
The streets involved are:
- Delany Drive from Milburnie Road to Glascock Street;
- Carlton Drive from Fox Road to Bentley Circle;
- North King Charles Road – south, from the Traffic Circle to Milburnie Road;
- Cardinal Grove Boulevard – north, from the Cardinal Grove Home Owners Association to Kyle Drive;
- Cranbrook Road from Shelley Road to Six Forks Road;
- Bennett Street from Glascock Street to Dennis Avenue; and,
- Whitehall Avenue from Brockton Drive to East Millbrook Road.
The process proscribed in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program has been completed for each street. The process includes: submission of a petition of support signed by the owners of at least 75 percent of the properties listed, a public workshop, a preliminary design review and comment period, and a second public workshop during which the final changes are adopted.
For more information regarding traffic calming projects, visit www.raleighnc.gov and enter “traffic calming” in the search window.

Good afternoon! In last nights ECAC meeting the question arose when would Salvation Army have a Grand Opening, after speaking to someone from the Center of Hope Salvation Army on Capital Blvd. at Crabtree Blvd. I was told they had their Grand Opening in August 2013 (1st week) invited attendees who were on their mailing list, she also stated it went across the TV airway as well I told her I never saw it on television and I didn't know why we weren't on their mailing list she stated she would give my info to the Community Resource person and if we did want to get a tour of the facility it could be arranged as soon as I hear from her I will get back to you.
