Public Invited to Union Station Information Session on Wednesday
A public information session on the planning and design of the Raleigh Union Station will be held on Wednesday, June 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at CAM Raleigh, 409 W. Martin St. Raleigh residents and other interested parties are invited to attend. This will be the third in a series of public information sessions on the Union Station project.
The purpose of the workshop is to solicit public input regarding program elements. Conceptual plans also will be available for review and comment. There will be a brief presentation at 6 p.m. Representatives from the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s (NCDOT) Rail Division, the City of Raleigh and the design team will be available to answer questions. Public comments provided at the workshop will be taken into consideration during the station design process.
Raleigh Union Station is located at 510 W. Martin St. in the Viaduct Building, a former Dillon Supply Co. warehouse facility. The future station is a joint initiative of NCDOT’s Rail Division and the City of Raleigh. Funding for the first stage of the station’s design is provided by a grant from the Federal Railroad Administration, as well as from City and state matching funds.
Also at Wednesday’s public information session, citizens will have an opportunity to learn more about the City of Raleigh’s efforts to improve and expand bus service into Downtown. To be introduced at the meeting is a project that looks at future needs and opportunities to modify service at the Moore Square Transit Station. The project will also evaluate alternatives for establishing a new multi-modal transportation center that will serve as Raleigh’s primary bus transfer facility.
Free parking for the public information session will be available in the surface parking lot at the end of West Martin Street.
For more information, visit www.ncdot.gov/projects/raleighunionstation.

Subject: City Manager survey
Please distribute widely!
The Mayor and City Council Members are seeking input from Raleigh residents on what they should be looking for in a new City Manager.
A survey asking three questions is offered to residents at the City of Raleigh’s website, www.raleighnc.gov. Responses must be received by 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 19.
The survey questions: seek specific qualifications for the City Manager position; ask responders to list the most important challenges confronting Raleigh now and in the future; and, asks what two questions responders would pose to the City Manager candidates.

Officer Krykso,
I have an area in the game room set aside where anyone who wants to donate can come by Lions Park and put items in designated area. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Glad we could be of some assistance, Thanks.

this person is at it again, and I'm going to attempt to file a complaint. If anyone isn't working and sees this person, please file one too, if there enough of complaints throughout the neighborhood, something might be done about it. I realize this is done during the day, but it is verry distracting and shaking my windows. I'm not trying to be a est, but this is getting old.p

Since my husband and I are both totally blind, I don't know if this is a group of motor cycles rowaring through the neighbor hood, or one person being a pest, but we are tired of hearing this nois constantly outside. I know they have the right to go through the neighbor hood, but the noise the motorcycle makes is rediculous. I know we get our share of noises throughout the neighbor hood, but this more than what we usually deal with during a day. Is there someone who can see what's going and attempt to put a stop to this? it's been going on now for the past 2 hours. thanks, and sorry to be a pest. We live on Stevens road.
