We were able to refer Oscar and his family to the Red Cross before I left today. I'm not sure of their procedure but I believe they will be providing housing needs and basic clothing needs until the family can get on their feet. I will try and find out the status of the family on Friday when I get back to work. If anyone has connections to the Red Cross that can find out quicker about arrangements etc please let me know.
I am off the next two days so if anyone has any questions you can call me at the number below. I will also be checking emails. Thanks again for everyone's concern with this matter.

Subject: ROCKS player in need - house fire today
All,
United Team this is one of our ROCKS players for one of our teams. His apartment caught on fire today via lightening and the family lost everything. If anyone can donate any items I can get them at tryouts tomorrow or Thursday.
He is a 10 year old boy and his shoe size is a 6. If anyone could assist please let me know. I know we are a girls team but hoping maybe brothers of our girls could help? Thanks Dana - See below...
A player on Cruz Azul, Oscar Sierras-Jaimes, is in need of any help we can provide from a soccer stand point. His building on Calumet Dr caught on fire during a storm this afternoon and the building is probably going to be a total loss. His family is obviously going through an ordeal since their belongings were destroyed from the fire. Any extra soccer gear that we can provide would be of great benefit to Oscar. He is worried about losing his soccer gear that was issued to him and I have already told him that he has no need to worry about the gear. Thought I would pass this information along to you all and please keep Oscar's family in your thoughts and prayers.

Hi there! Just a reminder that tryouts are this week…Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 6:30-8:00 pm. Check in begins at 5:45 tomorrow.
Also, is there anyone that would be willing to volunteer to check girls in tomorrow night. You would need to be at the Radford Building by 5:30 pm…and would be done at 6:30.
Thanks!
Carrie

****** F.Y.I. ****** The ECAC Community Day Festival will be CANCELED for 2013 due to the lack of our community and businesses involvement we hope to make a fresh and earlier start to make 2014 even better than previous years with more participation and input from the community on who and what you would like to come out, remember " There Is No Community Without UNITY " and as Ofcr. Krysko says; "Get to know your neighbor(s)." Since we do not want to lose the date( August 03, 2013) another idea has been tossed around about having a (Back to School Community Yard Sale) there will be more discussion and planning input in our June / July ECAC meetings please come out and share thank you.

This little guy followed my neighbor home on her dog walk this morning. His tag is worn and she can't decipher a phone number or address, but his name is Trixie.
He approached them on Brighton b/w North King Charles and Millbank. Let me know if you know where he belongs!!

My husband and I found an older style MacBook laptop on the side of the street while walking our dog on Bertie this evening. It worked but none of the documents gave us a clue to the owner. It was a little scuffed up, perhaps an Enloe student left it on top of their car and drove off? We turned the computer over to RPD so check with them if it belongs to you.

***** Just a Reminder ***** St. Matthew A.M.E. Church 1629 Bennett St. ( across from Lions Park), invited the community to join in this evening from 6:30pm--7:30pm. for National Day of Prayer.
